De lakenhandelaar Claes Claeszoon Anslo had drie huisjes in een tuin achter de Egelantiersstraat waar hij vanaf 1615 of 1616 oude mensen gratis liet wonen. De bebouwing is later uitgebreid.

The cloth merchant Claes Claeszoon Anslo had three houses in his garden behind the Egelantiersstraat where he let old people live for free from 1615 or 1616. The buildings were later expanded to what you see now.
